J&V Energy Technology Co., Ltd. (TWSE: 6869), an integrated low-carbon energy group in Asia, established LEAPCLOUD AI in May 2026 as a subsidiary dedicated to AI data center (AIDC) infrastructure. Building on J&V Energy’s integrated energy capabilities, LEAPCLOUD AI is focused on opportunities across AI data center power solutions, operations and management, and computing capacity services in Taiwan and international markets.
As artificial intelligence drives rapid growth in data center development worldwide, access to reliable power and computing capacity is becoming increasingly critical. J&V Energy sees significant growth potential in Taiwan, where AI data center development is expected to generate more than NT$951.2 billion (approximately US$30.2 billion) in investment opportunities over the next five years.
“AI is rapidly reshaping global demand for energy and infrastructure,” said Shu-Min Chao, General Manager of J&V Energy. “J&V Energy has evolved from a renewable energy company into a diversified group spanning AI infrastructure, integrated energy solutions and the circular economy. Through LEAPCLOUD AI, we are bringing our energy expertise into AI infrastructure to address one of the industry’s most fundamental requirements: reliable and sufficient power.”
LEAPCLOUD AI is expected to contribute revenue from the Taiwan market in 2026, with J&V Energy targeting significant growth for the business in 2027. By 2030, J&V Energy aims for LEAPCLOUD AI to account for a double-digit percentage of the Group’s revenue.
【Leveraging J&V Energy’s Integrated Energy Capabilities】
The rapid expansion of AI is increasing demand for power capacity, grid reliability and suitable sites for data center development. Kai Tan, Vice President of J&V Energy, said reliable and sufficient power is fundamental to the development and operation of AI data centers.
As LEAPCLOUD AI’s parent company, J&V Energy brings an established portfolio of renewable energy, energy storage and distributed energy capabilities to support AI data center development.
J&V Energy subsidiary Greenet (TPEx: 7842) provides renewable electricity solutions to help corporate customers meet their renewable energy procurement, RE100 and net-zero goals. Recharge Power (TPEx: 7921), the Group’s energy storage subsidiary, develops and integrates energy storage systems that enhance grid resilience and provide greater flexibility in power management.
J&V Energy also brings extensive experience in large-scale energy project development, land acquisition and site integration, and regulatory coordination, providing LEAPCLOUD AI with capabilities that extend beyond computing infrastructure to the energy requirements underpinning AI data center operations.
【Expanding J&V Energy’s Energy Platform】
In parallel with its expansion into AI data center infrastructure, J&V Energy continues to grow its renewable energy, energy storage, distributed energy and circular economy businesses.
The Group has completed the acquisition of a portfolio of 42 operational solar projects in Taiwan from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), part of BlackRock, with a combined installed capacity of 187 MW. Following the completion of the transaction, the assets have been integrated into J&V Energy’s operations, increasing the Group’s estimated annual power generation from approximately 250 million kWh to 520 million kWh, more than doubling its generation scale and further expanding its renewable electricity supply capabilities and long-term operational resilience.
Internationally, Recharge Power is expanding its energy storage business to address growing demand for storage and backup power solutions, including demand from AI data centers in Japan. The company is targeting a cumulative portfolio of 500 MW / 1,200 MWh in Japan by 2027, while also expanding its energy storage development and operations in Australia.
Across Southeast Asia, J&V Energy continues to advance solar projects in the Philippines, Vietnam and Thailand, with more than 500 MW currently under development. Projects in Vietnam and the Philippines began contributing revenue in the first quarter of 2026, further expanding the Group’s international business.
J&V Energy is also broadening its distributed energy and circular economy portfolio. The Group is developing solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) power generation systems using technology from Bloom Energy (NYSE: BE), while its subsidiary HowSmart is advancing its organic waste recycling and resource recovery business. J&V Energy is targeting 100 MW of distributed energy projects to begin construction in 2026.
【Continued Growth in Core Energy Businesses】
J&V Energy reported consolidated revenue of NT$1.664 billion in the first quarter of 2026, up 67% year over year. Gross margin increased to 18.6%, while operating income reached NT$131 million, up 118% from the fourth quarter of 2025.
J&V Energy expects full-year revenue in 2026 to reach another record high, with continued growth momentum into 2027.
Looking ahead, J&V Energy will continue to advance its three strategic growth areas: AI data center infrastructure, distributed power generation and circular economy solutions. Through LEAPCLOUD AI, the Group is extending its energy expertise into AI infrastructure, combining power, energy management and computing capabilities to address the evolving infrastructure requirements of the AI era.
